A warm welcome to Watchet

When I first moved to Watchet I was struck by the location and beauty of Watchet, and the surrounding areas. Watchets old harbour with the popular Marina soon became a home away from home.
Watchet was originally a trading port and harbour. Sending iron ore and wool goods across to Wales, Bristol and beyond. Whilst shipping much needed coal and other items back into Watchet.
The cliffs and beach area around Watchet are a fossil hunters dream. With amminites and many other sea creatures being commonly unearthed.

Watchet's Vibrancy
Watchet has a vibrant and active community. Organising events like the the famous Watchet carnival which is one of the biggest events in the Somerset Social calendar. Glastonbury aside.
There is plenty to do in Watchet with the charming Watchet Boat Museum, The Market House museum and the West Somerset Railway, a preserved steam railway which has a station at Watchet. Nearby Tropiquaria Animal and Adventure Park is a great day out for adults and children of all ages.
Explore the Watchet Heritage trail, The Mineral Line or simply take a walk along the stunning countryside and coast land that surrounds Watchet. The Quantocks Area of Outstanding national beautiful and Exmoor national park are nearby too.
